A vida e a confiança só se perdem uma vez : um caso clínico de bullying na adolescência

Poster apresentado na 3ª Reunião de Formação Pediátrica: AdolescênciaO fenómeno da violência na escola, e em particular o bullying, é um problema de saúde pública com graves consequências individuais e sociais. Na adolescência é especialmente crítico pela importância que as interações sociais desempenham no desenvolvimento da autonomia, identidade e adaptação social. O caso clínico que se apresenta pretende sensibilizar os profissionais de saúde para a problemática do bullying e realçar a importância da sua atuação na prevenção, diagnóstico e tratamento das possíveis repercussões, bem como na orientação da família. A complexidade deste fenómeno requer um trabalho intersectorial continuado, com implementação de ações ou programas anti bullying nas escolas e onde a equipa de saúde escolar pode ter um papel de grande relevo

On fractional quasilinear equations with elliptic degeneracy

In this work, we develop a systematic approach to study existence, multiplicity, and local gradient regularity estimates for solutions of nonlocal quasilinear equations with local gradient degeneracy. We develop an interactive geometric argument that interplays with uniqueness property for the corresponding homogeneous problem, in which, gradient H\"older regularity estimates are obtained. This machinery is intrinsically made for nonlocal scenarios since for the local ones solutions to the homogeneous problem are unique. We illustrate our results by exhibiting classes of exterior data in which multiplicity of solutions are observed, showing in parallel, relevant cases where uniqueness is verified

Detecting the completeness of a Finsler manifold via potential theory for its infinity Laplacian

In this paper, we study some potential theoretic aspects of the eikonal and infinity Laplace operator on a Finsler manifold $M$. Our main result shows that the forward completeness of $M$ can be detected in terms of Liouville properties and maximum principles at infinity for subsolutions of suitable inequalities, including $\Delta^N_\infty u \ge g(u)$. Also, an $\infty$-capacity criterion and a viscosity version of Ekeland principle are proved to be equivalent to the forward completeness of $M$. Part of the proof hinges on a new boundary-to-interior Lipschitz estimate for solutions of $\Delta^N_\infty u = g(u)$ on relatively compact sets, that implies a uniform Lipschitz estimate for certain entire, bounded solutions without requiring the completeness of $M$
